Rotary Club Lokoja Confers Honorary Membership on Kogi SSG for Outstanding Humanitarian Service

In a heartwarming gesture of recognition, the Rotary Club of Lokoja has honoured the Secretary to the Kogi State Government (SSG), Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, with an Honorary Membership for her exceptional dedication to humanitarian causes, particularly through her non-governmental organization, the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Orphans (FAIWO).

The presentation was made by the President of the Rotary Club Lokoja, Rotarian Ojo Iyabode, during an official visit to the SSG in her office. Iyabode highlighted that the honorary membership was in acknowledgment of Dr. Ayoade’s tireless efforts in uplifting the lives of orphans, widows, and the elderly across Kogi State. The Club noted that her compassion, leadership, and consistent support for marginalized groups reflect the core values of Rotary International.

Dr. Ayoade’s recent initiatives—including her visit to several orphanage homes in Lokoja and an empowerment program for widows held at her residence—have continued to make a tangible difference in the lives of many. In a landmark move, she also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a permanent orphanage home under the auspices of FAIWO, an initiative she founded and has championed with passion.

The Rotary Club also used the occasion to congratulate Dr. Ayoade on her well-deserved reappointment by Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo. The Club described her reappointment as a testament to her integrity, commitment, and unwavering work ethic in public service.

In her response, Dr. Ayoade expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club for the honour, stating that the recognition would further inspire her to deepen her service to God and humanity. She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that vulnerable groups in society are not left behind.
