We Are Non Profit Organization

The Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Orphans (FAIWO) is a Nigerian non-governmental organization, formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2018. FAIWO is dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of widows, orphans, and marginalized communities through targeted advocacy, economic empowerment, capacity-building programs, and human rights initiatives. In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 5, 8, 10, and 16), the organization implements outcome-driven interventions—ranging from microfinance support to legal aid—that dismantle systemic barriers and foster inclusive growth. Rooted in community-based action, FAIWO envisions a society where no widow or orphan is defined by loss, but empowered to lead, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to society.

We Are A Strong Team

Founded by Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D, whose lifelong
dedication to social equity inspired the creation of FAIWO, we
are a team of compassionate professionals committed to
empowering widows, orphans, and marginalized communities.
Through advocacy, vocational training, legal aid, and
educational support, we’ve transformed lives across Nigeria
equipping hundreds with the tools to reclaim dignity, achieve
self-reliance, and inspire positive change in their communities.
Since 2018, our staff and partners have tirelessly sacrificed time
and resources to forge impactful collaborations, turning
vulnerability into leadership and isolation into collective
strength. Together, we’re building a future where loss is
replaced by limitless potential.
